This week I stepped outside my usual cataloging work to help install the museum’s “Artist of the Month” exhibit. Alongside another intern from the education department, I unboxed, arranged, hung, and labeled pieces within our allotted space. This was a nice change of pace outside my usual work with processing.

Afterward, I helped her (the other intern) choose items from the education department’s hands-on learning collection for an upcoming event with a cowboy theme at Dell Diamond our local baseball stadium. Our Museum will be showcased during their upcoming game.

I also took down and put up the new “Artifact of the Month.” For the outgoing piece, I located its record in PastPerfect then found it in the collection to place in our display case.

In the last part of the day, I worked with our curator to help do a pre layout of the infographics going up for the museum’s new exhibit, “Lights, Camera, Williamson County.” This then led to the idea of doing movie themed “Artifacts of the Month”. I picked out September’s artifact and started writing its description before I left for the day.
